UEA Live is presented by the University of East Anglia.

This notice explains how the University will use personal data that you submit in relation to UEA Live.

This notice applies to anyone who:

  • Purchases tickets for UEA Live via the UEA Store
  • Requests to join our mailing list
  • Completes feedback surveys and gives us their contact details
  • Enters competitions run by UEA Live
  • Uses our website, we automatically collect information from your browser. This information includes your IP address, your browser type and language, access times, the contents of any undeleted cookies* that your browser previously accepted from us and the referring website.

Your name, email address, home address and phone number


  • To contact you regarding ticket purchases and provide customer support
  • To deliver the products and services you have requested
  • To send you regular updates on UEA Live, only if you have subscribed to our mailing list and given us explicit consent to do so
  • To notify you that you have won a competition
  • For your vital interests

The lawful basis we rely on for processing your contact details, interest preferences, and contacting you about future events and activities is your consent under article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. You have the right to withdraw your consent, or to object to the processing of your personal data for this purpose at any time.   1. Buying tickets for events or delivering products and services that you have purchased

The lawful basis we rely on for processing your personal data in relation to orders for goods or services is listed in Article 6(1)(b), because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering a contract.

The University of East Anglia is a registered data controller, and we will use any personal data you submit in this form for the purpose of processing your online order. Our legal basis for processing your data is listed in Article 6(1)(b) because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering a contract. If you choose not to provide us with the data, we will be unable to process your order. The information you provide will be shared with Waterstones in order to process your online book order. Their privacy policy is published here. Your data will not otherwise be shared unless required by law.

Where does your information come from?

All personal data processed as part of UEA Live activities will come directly from you, for example through you purchasing tickets via the UEA Store.

Sharing your information

We do not intend to share your personal data with any third party. Any specific requests from a third party for us to share your personal data with them will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the data protection laws.

Changes to this privacy notice

This privacy notice was amended in July 2022. If we make any further changes to this notice, we will notify all Festival subscribers or current ticket holders by sending you an email, including details of the changes made.
